The most-booked artists across Tampa Bay this August
August in St. Petersburg belonged to the restaurant circuit. Forbici Modern Italian and its sister room Forbici Modern Italian St Pete anchored the acoustic and band categories almost single-handedly, while the late-night rotation at Trailer Daddy, Good Night John Boy St. Pete, and My Rich Uncle kept the DJ booth packed every weekend. Here is who put in the work.
Joe Hite logged 19 gigs in August, splitting his time between Forbici Modern Italian and Union New American. That is close to a set every day of the month, and the fact that two rooms wanted him on repeat says plenty. Restaurant gigs live and die on an artist reading a room without stepping on dinner conversation. Hite clearly has that dialed in, and both venues kept calling him back instead of rotating in someone new.
Daniel B. Marshall put up 15 gigs across both Forbici locations, proving the St. Pete and Tampa rooms trust him equally. Eric Yoder spread his 10 gigs across three venues, adding Highland House into the Forbici mix. Jeff Baker stayed loyal to one room, racking up 10 gigs solely at Forbici Modern Italian St Pete. Ken Apperson rounded out the top five with 9 gigs split between the two Forbici locations.
Daniel B. Marshall takes the top band slot too, bringing a full lineup into Forbici Modern Italian St Pete for 4 nights in August. It is a rare double crown, solo sets earning him the acoustic runner-up spot and a full band arrangement landing him at number one here. That kind of range, and that kind of trust from one venue, is not common. Elliot Dickinson matched him gig for gig, also logging 4 band nights at the same St. Pete room.
Beyond those two, the band category shifts to Welcome to The Farm - St. Pete, which hosted four different acts twice apiece. Jake Dodds, Joe Denny and the Joyriders, No Good Deed, and Second Rodeo each played twice there, a sign that the Farm's stage rotates through a deep bench of live acts rather than leaning on one house favorite.
DJ Dexan ran the table with 20 gigs across four venues in August, the most active booking of any artist this month in any category. He worked the entire late-night circuit: Welcome to The Farm - St. Pete, Trailer Daddy, Good Night John Boy St. Pete, and My Rich Uncle. Four rooms, four different crowds, one DJ who apparently does not need a night off. That kind of spread is what separates a working DJ from a house resident. Dexan is both.
DJ AYESIK was right behind him with 18 gigs across three of those same four rooms. Bohav matched Dexan's four-venue spread with 17 gigs, missing the top spot by a handful of dates. Quinn Blalock broke from the pack entirely, building an 11-gig month around Sonder Social Club, Predalina, and Casa Cami. DJ Dani closed out the top five with 9 gigs on the same Trailer Daddy and Good Night John Boy rotation.
